Overview

SecondOpinion ("we," "our," or "the extension") is a Chrome extension that helps you get a quick buying check on product pages. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data we collect

• Install identity. When you first use the extension, we create an anonymous install ID and store it locally. We use it to manage your free credits and (if you use a referral link) to attribute referral bonuses. We do not tie this to your name, email, or any other personally identifiable information.
• Product page data when you request an analysis. When you click to get a "second opinion," we send to our servers: the page URL, domain, and non-personal page content we extract (e.g., product title, heading, prices, visible text we use for context). We use this solely to generate your buying summary. We do not use it for advertising or sell it to third parties.
• Usage events. We may log anonymous events such as "chip shown" or "analysis requested" to improve the product. These do not include personally identifiable information.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not use your data for advertising or to build advertising profiles.
• We do not require an account or collect your name, email, or payment info for the free extension experience.

Storage and retention

Install identity and preferences (e.g., muted sites) are stored locally in your browser. Data sent to our servers for analysis may be retained for a limited time for caching and quality purposes. We do not retain it for longer than necessary to operate the service.

Third parties

We use infrastructure and services (e.g., hosting, AI APIs) to run the extension. Those providers process data only as needed to provide the service and under appropriate agreements. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

Your choices

You can uninstall the extension at any time from Chrome. That stops any further data collection. Local data in the extension is removed when you remove the extension.
