Breakback Scout
Enter two players. Each break direction is graded by the raw Elo spread — attacker's breakback-attack Elo minus server's post-break-hold Elo — using tiers validated on chronological holdouts. Men and women are modeled separately.
Select two supported players
The scout grades both break directions: what to do if A breaks B, and if B breaks A. Green is a hammer tier — spreads of ±100 Elo or more, either toward the breakback (~35% realized vs ~23.5% baseline on this tour) or against it (~12%). Yellow is a ±50–100 spread. Inside ±50 is a pass: no edge, whatever the individual percentiles look like.
For the skeptics
Does Elo spread actually predict breakbacks?
Yes — and it holds separately for men and women. On a chronological 12-month holdout (mature ratings only), realized immediate-breakback rate climbs almost linearly with the Elo gap between the attacker and the post-break holder. Band-level correlation is ~0.99 in both tours; absolute rates sit higher on the women's side because women break back more often overall.
